TOSHIBA AMERICA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS INCREASES RECYCLING EFFORTS IN PURSUIT OF ZERO WASTE

Toshiba Recycles Almost 100 Tons of E-Waste in 2012
IRVINE,Calif. (Feb. 11, 2013)--Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. (http://business.toshiba.com) today announces a nearly 60 percent year-over-year increase in recycled imaging consumables as part of the company's "Zero Waste to Landfill" program. In partnership with Close the Loop, an internationally recognized recycler of imaging consumables, Toshiba demonstrates its environmental leadership by recycling about 100 tons of e-waste in 2012.

Toshiba is the first manufacturer to partner with Close the Loop and is currently the only company accepting e-waste from all other imaging consumable manufacturers thereby making it very simple for its customers to recycle. Since the inception of its association with Close the Loop in late 2008, Toshiba has collected more than 200 tons of spent imaging consumables thereby removing this significant amount of e-waste from filling open land.

As a result of its partnership with Close the Loop, Toshiba is contributing to the development of an array of eLumber, the recycler's patented composite product, which is used to build such outdoor products as park benches, fences and garden boxes for communities and nonprofit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity. eLumber products have recently been expanded to include rulers and pens.
"Our recycling efforts in partnership with Close the Loop, demonstrates Toshiba's commitment to sustaining our environment with the goal of eliminating e-waste from entering landfills," said Tom Walter, director, aftermarket sales, marketing and operations at Toshiba America Business Solutions.

"Through our Zero Waste to Landfill program, we are making it as easy as possible for our customers to participate in the recycling process. Moreover, our acceptance of other manufacturers' spent imaging consumables further underscores Toshiba's commitment to sustaining the environment."
